It began in Las Vegas, Nevada where Nick and Linda met in the summer of 1981. Linda had just arrived on the Las Vegas scene performing as a singing artist with a group called ” Southern Gold”. It was love at first sight. God had his hand on both their lives at that time, even though they weren’t aware of it.
Nick’s heritage is Greek, Italian, you might know they are one stubborn people, as Frank Sinatra sang his famous song,” I’ll Do It My Way”, and oh boy did Nick do it his way. As life happens Nick had begun a life of turmoil, grief, and tragedy. He was married at the young age of 19 and by the time he was 28, he had four beautiful children and a rocky marriage. Then tragedy struck. He lost two children in a home fire, in Edison, New Jersey, a son, age two, and a daughter, age four. This led Nick searching for an answer, and on a trip to New Orleans, he met a Christian Jew, who led him to the Lord right in the heart of Bourbon Street. As the years pass by, he fell away from the Lord and then something wonderful happened! A very lovely songbird, by the name of Linda came into his life, and his way of life was not to be the same. In fact the Lord immediately started convicting him of his lifestyle through Linda, because of her love for the Lord! Amen brother!
Nick and Linda decided to reside in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Nick became Linda’s personal manager. Together they pursued a music career for her with great enthusiasm. During this endeavor they decided to get married in Las Vegas on January 7,1984. Through the years they found a great deal of success in the music field, but it always left emptiness in their hearts. To this day they wish they could have said they always served the Lord with their talents, however for a season they tried to control their own destiny and were always a heartbeat away from the “Big Deal”, yet, Linda at all times knew that God had other plans for their lives.
Linda had started her singing career at a very young age of three and singing her first gospel solo “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” at the age of eight. Linda received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her hometown baptist church in Greenville, South Carolina. At the age of 17, she had organized her first gospel singing group “The Gospel Servants”. For whatever reason, Linda had also strayed from the Lord, and turned her attentions to the music field, sharing the stage with some of the top performing artist such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others. Linda also is a mother of two beautiful daughters, Catrina and Tawana, who now reside in Greenville, South Carolina. Learn more about Linda Machi – Born to Sing
